about

Hi!

I’m Emma Childs, a fashion editor living in Brooklyn, NYC.

I’m currently the fashion features editor at Marie Claire, where I write about zeitgeist-y trends and the intersection of style, culture, and human interest storytelling. Topics range from reporting on Silly Little Pouches, pickpocket-friendly bags, and Substack’s favorite outfit formula to CEOs’ all-time favorite work bags and what women are actually wearing to work these days.

Previously, I wrote trend reports and style articles as MC’s style editor; fashion news for The Zoe Report; e-commerce roundups for Editorialist; fashion news at Elite Daily; and fashion features at Mission Magazine. I studied New Media & Digital Design and Fashion Studies at Fordham University Lincoln Center.

A little more about me: I grew up on Cape Cod, MA, and I’ve also dabbled in photography and art direction. When I’m not writing about trends and internet fashion discourse, I’m stalking eBay for designer vintage, reading literary fiction, and befriending bodega cats.
